Good day art friends. Yesterday I got to hang my art(8 pieces) in the reception center at the Bonnet House. What a lovely place. I have an artist membership to the Bonnet House and get to go there painting. I went this last weekend and painted. What a great experience. .I would like to do an outing with our plein air group and will work on setting that up.

Well,

I was given the wooden shoes from the Mayor of Holland today for being the first vessel of the 2010 season to come in with cargo. The shoes are very sporty and hand made by real dutch like people. Says so on the bottom. In fact they are the only shoes I have seen in a long long time that don't say "made in china" on the inside or bottom. However to earn them was a challenge. I feel very honored to win a ribbon and some cash from the Hollywood Art Guild for the Abstract Show that opened on Thursday night.
My woodblock abstract piece called "Walking Backwards to Youth" is a four block abstract. I am not really an abstract artist, but this is an example of letting your mind go and know when to stop.
